Congrats on becoming a mom! I'm big on visioning for sure. I think what's interesting too is how does one's own vision align or not with their partner? You might be interested in how much nerding out I did on this topic with my partner in my article here: https://coupledom.substack.com/p/design-the-relationship?r=caupo

I'm writing a lot more these days about the journey of motherhood in the US should you want to join me on my substack!

Thanks and sorry for the late reply. I fully agree that a shared vision is necessary to build a functioning family dynamic. I read your post and admire the way you've been able to systemize parenting/couplehood with your partner! Impressive 🙌🏻

I think your ideas are really excellent. I am I think what you call a creative generalist and I have been struggling to define my vision since leaving academia and corporate life, just because my interest I know know cannot be fulfilled in a job, I know I need control and ownership not the corporate ladder which leads to anxiety and self doubt. As you say the vision is essential to give some order and purpose to self direction. Just reading your few tips has helped greatly to give form to what I ah I ah been trying to do......which is to create a resort/space for people enjoy here in philippines. Thanks a lot for this. Things are at an early stage and many creative choices and physical work to be done, but ti will forge ahead with greater clarity.

Hi Eddy, and thanks so much for sharing your story. And wow, congratulations on discovering that you want to open a resort space, the clarity must feel great! Where in the Philippines are you based? I've been once to the islands for a diving retreat and absolutely loved it. There's so much magic in bringing people from different backrounds together in a beautiful space. And I can imagine the creativity that goes into building a space like that makes the project quite inspiring. Remember to use everything you've learned in your time in academia and corporate too. I find that sometimes the things we think are irrelevant are actually what makes us/our next project unique to us, and as such, hard to compete with.

Hi, thank you for your encouragement. We actually have little budget so it's doubly challenging. We are in Negros Occidental Island, great beaches and mountains even, very lush and fertile. I hope I can survive here!! Keep up the good work!

I wish you the best of lucky coincidences with your project! Let's hope the stars are aligned for a smooth takeoff. And if not, I wish you persistence and creativity. With those two, all challenges can be overcome 💫

Congratulations on your new baby! I have to keep reminding myself that my vision can be weird and doesn’t have to be what everyone else expects of me. Thank you for this reminder!
