Thank you SO much for sharing your story and talking about the fluctuations of success!
There are so many multi-lingual people trying to navigate what you’re sharing here.
For me, having lived abroad and moved back to Germany 2 years ago. German is my mother tongue so it should be easy, but it feels bumpy and weird, I don’t have a local network, language feels rusty...
I think "bumpy and weird" is the perfect description! Working online has its perks but also its challenges because it doesn't properly connect you anywhere physically. Even though the stuff you talk about isn't localised, you are. And living abroad doesn't necessarily mean you're connected with the local culture but instead, could feel like a bit of an anomaly.
I get you, I felt the same when I lived abroad. But now that i have returned, I’m not the same old me anymore and feel a bit like a foreigner too, although I know things about this place foreigners don’t. Maybe it’s really about how we navigate the foreign knowing why we’re here and what we want to achieve. And the rest will follow 🌊
Love this so much! Hard agree that successful investments (money or not) are long term and small steps 🩵
Small steps, slow and steady. A good rule of thumb for many things in life.
Thank you for those well timed words. I feel so much more at ease as you are giving words to my feelings.
Thank you Jacquelynn for your comment, I'm so happy to hear that my words were helpful. Know that you're not alone.
