Have you ever felt like we live in masculine societies with very limited versions of ambition and success?
Have you found yourself craving for an approach to work that didn’t have to be about always being or doing more?
Would you like to have a career or business where you can show up as your full self, even if sometimes it looks like crying on the floor in a fetal position?
If any of these resonate with you, you’re going to love this interview I had with Kacie Lett Gordon, co-founder, storyteller & creator of
. Her media business revolves around serving women and embracing femininity. She and her co-founder have also made intentional decisions about practising their business the way they preach. This means, for example, starting their work days at 10 AM and only working 2–3 days a week. What I really appreciate about Kacie is her ability to reflect on her own awakening through motherhood, realising the version of ambition she was holding wasn’t what she wanted anymore. She’s constantly fine-tuning her approach to find something truly meaningful and authentic to her and isn’t afraid to share the journey she’s on right as we speak.
Words of Wisdom
Here are some of my favourite moments from this interview, all quotes by Kacie:
On embracing feminine energy [36:42]: “One of the most profound pieces of advice I've gotten is when she said, you're craving feminine energy. You've embodied masculine energy to get where you are and you're craving this. And if ever you think that feminine energy is weak or less than remember that water is a feminine element and it carved the grand canyon and what I took from that is it doesn't always it's not brought blunt force but it's slow it's steady it's nourishing it's consistent that is what and it takes time but it's lasting.”
On ambition [10:47]: “One of the biggest rewrites of my life, not just in my professional career, is my relationship with ambition.”
On career change [3:21]: “It was now what I can see a moment of redefinition, but at the time it felt like a moment of failure, getting to where you thought you wanted to be and then it not being fulfilling or bringing you the joy or accomplishment that you thought it would.”
On perfection |7:07]: “I've never felt more alone than in the presence of perfection.”
On finding her personal mission [7:11]: “The essence of the work I do today is to bring all of these experiences that I've personally had and professionally had and do it through the lens of creativity. And also show what it's like when you're in the bathroom in the fetal position crying, not just on a stage speaking somewhere. And I feel like both have to be true for us to really... at least in our world, invite women to say, you know, can you be bold enough to, or brave enough to trust your own voice, trust your own instinct and, and do something different.”
On entrepreneurship [14:17]: “And so entrepreneurship for me has been much more of a spiritual and personal relationship. I feel like just as much as I'm building a company, I'm building a version of myself that hasn't existed and it doesn't come without its own bumps and bruises.”

The High on Hope Rebel Series
This series of interviews features people who have taken a big leap of faith without knowing where exactly it will land. They’re also people who are breaking conventional rules about how to succeed in this world and figuring things out for themselves in inspiring ways. They’re the ones who publish a book even if people tell them it’s an impossible sell, leave social media even if it means slower business growth, choose ethical approaches to their work instead of maximising profit, follow a spiritual path rather than societal rules, share their stories even when they’re in the midst of personal turmoil, and open their hearts to talk about the good, the bad and the vulnerable.
They’re the type of rebels that the world needs more of.
They’re the people who create hope.
They’re the people I love to hang out with.
